There are some lovely things in this collection.
H&M, the high-street fashion retailer, has teamed up with the animal rights organization PETA to create a new vegan winter collection.
The Co-Exist Story collection, which includes both women’s and men’s clothing, is currently available online and in select retailers.
In this magnificent collection, fashion (and animal) enthusiasts can expect plenty of statement jumpers, bright colors, and seductive faux fur.
FLWRDWN, a wildflower-based replacement to animal down, and VEGEA, a plant-based alternative to animal-derived leathers, are among the animal-substitute materials included in the Co-Exist Story.
“The Co-Exist Story collection epitomizes our continued dedication at H&M to researching inventive alternatives to animal-derived materials while still delivering our customers cutting-edge design,” said Ann-Sofie Johansson, the company’s creative advisor, ahead of the launch.
“H&M and PETA have enjoyed a positive dialogue throughout the project, and we are proud to support the valuable work that PETA is doing every day.” she stated.
“We designed this collection for modern urbanites, those who love the social hubs of city life but equally crave weekends spent wearing their waterproof rubber boots immersed in nature.” said Malin Dubois, a senior designer at the shop.
“We’re proud to be able to unite two passions: versatile, fashion-forward design with more sustainable PETA-approved alternatives to animal-derived materials.”
PETA applauded the collaboration.
“Much of our work at PETA is performed by developing positive connections with companies like H&M as we aim to halt the use of animal-derived materials,” said Laura Shields, the organization’s corporate responsibility manager.
“We’re thrilled to partner with H&M on a collection that features fabulous vegan designs that are kinder to the planet and to the animals who live on it.”
